We are here to help you with your skin and skin care questions.  If there is anything you want to know about or change on your skin, we hope you feel comfortable enough to mention it to us.  All the staff at KDA have been personally trained by Dr. Marla Klein.

Jamie Kersenbrock Barbara, FNP-BC is a nurse practitioner. Jamie obtained her master’s degree from Columbia University in New York City, where she also received a bachelor’s in nursing. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jamie worked in New York as an inpatient nurse in orthopedics and sports medicine.

Jamie is an Oregon native and is so excited to be back home in Portland. When she’s not tending to the skin needs of her patients, you will find her outdoors tending to her garden, cooking for her friends and family, camping, bicycling or on a long walk exploring the neighborhoods of Portland.

Lisa Peters, a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, has been working in dermatology (and loving every minute of it) since 2013. Hailing from Kansas and Idaho, she and her husband and daughter have grown to love the vibrant Pacific Northwest. Year-round gardening, the local music scene, and exceptional food are favorite family diversions. For 2018, Lisa is eager to expand her knowledge and practice by learning from all the great professionals at Klein Dermatology. She’s also a little obsessed with her two cats.

Alicia Moez Wayland, R.N. has been a registered nurse since 2009. After graduating from nursing school at Western Kentucky University, she moved across the U.S. and landed in Portland. She gained clinical experience working in oncology, medical/surgical nursing, and joint replacement nursing. She started working for KDA in 2012.

Alicia’s true passion involves all things skincare and anti-aging. Her interests lie in both cosmetic and general dermatology. Here at KDA Alicia performs Botox®, Xeomin, Dysport, Voluma, Kybella, Juvederm®, Restylane Silk, and Belotero injections, as well as, IPL and 1540 fractionated laser treatments, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Alicia also enjoys treating and educating her acne and rosacea patients. The personal experience of having cystic acne for most of her 20’s, inspired Alicia to seek out a career in dermatology.

When Alicia is not enhancing the beauty of her patients, she enjoys scouring the local farmers’ markets, cooking, exercising, watching movies, trying out new restaurants with her husband- including cuddling with her dogs, Ruben and Pip.

Leslee Platt, R.N. has been a registered nurse since 2014. She first graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Physiology, then went back to nursing school at University of Portland and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She started working for KDA in 2001 working in the front office as a helper pulling and filing charts, then moved into the receptionist position, eventually moving to the clinical side of the office. When Leslee is not assisting Dr. Klein, you can find her in her office doing many different administrative/billing projects. She has experience in pediatrics and dermatology.

Leslee enjoys spending time with her family and friends when she is not helping patients. She loves cooking/baking, running, medical mission trips, and traveling with her husband.

Michelle Benes, started her career in Dermatology 14 years ago. She obtained her Degree in Medical Assisting and Radiology in 2003, in Anaheim CA. She fell in love with Dermatology while searching for the right job as a Radiological Technologist. She eventually stopped looking because she realized that she was right where she belonged. Her medical assisting experience varies from General dermatology, MOHs Micrographic Surgery, Endovenous Ablation, Sclerotherapy, Laser surgery and Cosmetic surgery. Although she loves all things Dermatology, she especially enjoys surgical Dermatology and helping patients understand their personal skin care needs. She has been with KDA since Fall of 2014 starting as a receptionist and has worked her way into the back office. She is thrilled to be assisting Jamie Kersenbrock, FNP in clinic as Jamie’s medical assistant.

When Michelle is not working, she enjoys spending her time with her husband, their 4 boys and her Chocolate Lab, Ruger. Her and her family are all very active. She enjoys summertime activities such as hiking, trail running, kayaking, indoor rock climbing and camping. Her and her husband are both competitive Crossfit athletes and love to participate in Mud Runs. In her spare time, she assists her husband who is a Den leader for their local Boy Scouts pack and enjoy helping their boys with sports activities.

Erin McClellan has been a dermatological Medical Assistant since 2007. Right away I found Dermatology as a natural fit for me. I struggle with acne and keloid scarring which, I think, helps me be more compassionate to the concerns patients have. I understand how frustrating our skin can be and love when patients finally become confident with their skin. I finished school in Monterey, CA after a few years decided to move to San Diego, CA. After being away from my family I then moved in Portland, OR to be closer to them. Every dermatology office I work in I find I continue to learn more and enjoy my work more.

After work, Burton and Riley (my two rescued dogs) are my world. We love to explore the many hiking trails the North West has to offer. When I’m not with my dogs I love a little adventure ranging from white water rafting to riding my motorcycle and snowboarding. I have played softball regularly for over 20 years and love staying active. I’m so glad to call Portland my home.
